As Americans go to the polls Election Day 2024 To choose between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, voters need to know what, if any, required identification they must present in order to submit their ballot papers depending on the state in which they are registered.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, 36 states require voters to show some form of identification at polling places, either upon request or request, and some require photo documentation. The remaining 14 states and Washington, D.C., use other means to verify voters’ identities. In most cases, other identifying information provided to the polling place is checked against that person’s records.
Voters are advised to check their state polling times and their registration status before going to their polling place.
