Footage of the moment a dog happily reunites with its owner has gone viral on TikTok, garnering more than 688,000 views.
The video was posted on an account dedicated to Miley, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier (@m1ley_staffy). In the clip, Miley can be seen walking in the distance as her owner approaches. The text superimposed on the video reads: “Surprising my dog after work.”
At first, Miley is minding her own business, but then she seems to pull herself together, holding back her enthusiasm for a few seconds, just in case it’s not her mother. The on-screen text says, “That looks like mommy,” followed by “Oh my god, that’s her!”, as Miley pulls the male walker and bursts out happily wagging his tail and jumping happily.
The clip from September 30, subtitled “[I] which made him walk 10 times better”, has garnered over 51,000 likes so far. TikTok users are captivated by the dog’s reaction, with many commenting on Miley’s body language. Some even got emotional ‘to tears. “This made me cry,” said one user.
“She completely lost her mind when she recognized you!!!” » commented another user. Another agreed, saying: “I love the way her tail wagged before she even checked it was you, like she was thinking, ‘That looks like mom. I love mom. OMG, C ‘IS MOM!!!'”

Nick Horniman, veterinarian and founder of an online pet pharmacy, said: “Happy, excited greetings are a dead giveaway. A dog who greets you enthusiastically when you come home, with a wagging tail, excited barks and jumping, is clearly expressing joy at your return. This behavior shows that He missed you and I’m glad you’re back.

Another sign of affection for their owner is the desire to be close, as demonstrated by Miley. Horniman explained, “This behavior shows that your dog feels comfortable and secure in your presence and prefers your company to being alone.”
Jess Hockaday, a veterinarian at Chewy, added: “You can tell they like you and feel comfortable around you if they want to be with you all the time, even following you into the bathroom or sharing your bed.”
