A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 7.35am on Tuesday 16 November on reports of a collision involving a truck near a railway bridge at the Cameron Toll roundabout, Edinburgh.” Operations Control mobilized three devices and specialist resources for the site. “An injured person was in the custody of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews made the area safe before leaving the site.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.

The Edinburgh Travel News Twitter account has advised drivers to “avoid the whole area if you can”.

Several Lothian buses have been diverted.
