Wayne Brady, 50, has felt the love from his fans on season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. The TV host and comedian is in the finals and has a great shot at winning the Mirrorball Trophy with his partner Witney Carson. Wayne’s daughter Maile Masako Brady, 19, has been one of his biggest supporters on this amazing journey. Wayne even dedicated his Foxtrot dance to his daughter during the Most Memorable Year episode. Who Is Maile Masako Brady?
Maile Masako Brady was born on February 3, 2003 to Wayne and his wife Mandie Taketa, 46. Wayne got married to Mandie, who is a dancer, four years before Maile was born. It was the second marriage for Wayne, who was wed to Diana Lasso from 1993 to 1995. Wayne and Mandie separated on April 5, 2007, when Maile was only three years old. Mandie filed for divorce from Wayne on July 2, 2007. “The split is very amicable and they continue to remain the best of friends and committed parents,” Wayne’s representative told PEOPLE at the time.
Wayne and Mandie have had a very positive co-parenting experience since their split. In fact, the exes actually isolated together during the COVID-19 pandemic with their daughter and Mandie’s boyfriend, Jason Fordham.
“For the entire duration of [Malie’s] life, we have co-parented as best friends,” Wayne told Access Hollywood in March 2020. “Our quarantining is a little different, we quarantine between both of our homes and I’ve got a big back yard and lots of land, so we both share this land and this space,” Wayne added. “Mandie, her boyfriend Jason, my daughter Maile, we are a family, so we’re like this new, nuclear family.”

Maile has followed in her father’s footsteps as a talented actor and singer. She made her acting debut in 2018 on an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. She filmed scenes with former Dance Moms star Nia Sioux. “To see her on the set, I feel like a giddy stage dad,” Wayne told Entertainment Tonight about Maile’s guest appearance on the soap opera. “It makes me wanna cry. I’ve had a couple near tear moments.”
As a singer, Maile released her single “Exhale” and the music video in 2021. Maile also sings and dances on TikTok, where she has over 200,000 followers. Maile has filmed numerous TikToks with her dad.

Mandie and her boyfriend have a son named Sunny, who they welcomed via adoption. In Oct. 2021, Wayne announced that he will be co-parenting Sunny with Mandie and Jason. “He’s gonna call me Duncle (Daddy/Uncle) because I plan on being around and doing all that stuff,” he wrote on Instagram. Wayne also revealed that he is Sunny’s godfather.
Maile is a great big sister to her baby brother Sunny. The whole family is close and they even filmed a TikTok video together on Christmas in 2021. Mandie held baby Sunny as the family did a dance led by Maile in their Christmas pajamas.

Maile has such a wonderful relationship with her dad. Maile has supported Wayne during big moments in his career, including when he hosted the 2022 American Music Awards on November 20. Wayne has always looked out for his daughter and previously admitted to a time that he feared for Maile’s safety because she’s a young black girl.
He told Access Hollywood that Maile was 14 or 15 years old when she accidentally set the alarms off at Wayne’s house, when he wasn’t home. “I freaked out because I was giving her the code and for whatever reason she put it in wrong and it wouldn’t accept and then the alarm company [said] we are sending armed response right now,” he recalled in the 2020 interview. “I was so worried that my daughter could not explain in the heat of the moment, ‘Yes, it’s my house.’ ”
Wayne has also shown love to Maile on her birthday every single year. When Maile turned 19 in February, Wayne reflected on how his “life changed forever” the day she was born. “Being your father is truly the greatest role I could ask for,” the Kinky Boots star wrote on Instagram. “I’ve gotten to witness an amazing human be built from the ground up. You make me proud every single day. Not only do I love you, (duh), but I like and respect you with all my heart. I’m in awe of you Buddy,” Wayne added.
