Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire’s Top Additions Ahead of Week 4

If you are an avid reader of Newsweek SportsYou’re probably in a comfortable position after adding Jauan Jennings to your fantasy football team last week.

Jennings had the best fantasy performance of the season so far, hauling in 11 receptions for 175 yards and three touchdowns. He earned an impressive 46.5 PPR points.

In addition to Jennings, we told you to pick Minnesota Vikings receiver Jalen Nailor, who has 26.8 PPR points over the last two weeks, and Alec Pierce, who ranks 16th among PPR receivers with 43.5 total points.

This week, there are a lot more players to add to your teams, some obvious and some not so much. Here are the top five waiver wire additions for Week 4 in terms of players held in less than 50% of ESPN leagues.

1. Bucky Irving, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (32.8% owned)

Irving is the player who will see his field goal percentage skyrocket this week. Irving is coming off Week 3 with nine carries for 70 yards, while starting running back Rachaad White has six carries for 17 yards. On the year, White is averaging 2.1 yards per carry, while Irving is averaging 6.2 yards per carry.

On Monday, head coach Todd Bowles said Irving has earned more playing time going forward. That should please fantasy owners everywhere.

2. Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, New York Giants (14.9% owned)

The Giants’ offense has looked competent since their Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Robinson has had three solid performances with 11.8, 9.8 and 13.1 PPR points. He has been targeted 24 times this season, which ranks second on the Giants behind rookie receiver Malik Nabers (37).

3. Andrei Iosivas, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (7.1 percent ownership)

Iosivas has taken over Tyler Boyd’s role as the Bengals’ third-string receiver, and he performed well even with Tee Higgins back in Week 3, catching five passes for 52 yards and a touchdown. There’s clearly room for him in this offense.

4. Xavier Legette, WR, Carolina Panthers (20% owned)

With Adam Thielen on injured reserve and the Panthers’ offense looking revitalized with Andy Dalton, Legette is Carolina’s go-to receiver. The Panthers spent a first-round pick on Legette this year and will likely try to give him plenty of touches in the offense alongside Diontae Johnson. Legette had 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns last year at South Carolina.

5. Roschon Johnson, RB, Chicago Bears (0.9 percent ownership)

Johnson is my low-key addition of the week because he’s emerged as the lone bright spot in a Bears rushing attack so far. Johnson has eight carries for 30 yards and four more receptions for 32 yards. He’s by no means a starter right now, but add him to your bench and see if he continues to see more touches as D’Andre Swift struggles to start the season.
