At least four men were injured in a shooting overnight as they walked in the Albany Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, the victims were walking in the 4200 block of Knox Avenue when a dark-colored sedan approached and someone inside opened fire. A 24-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and groin and was taken to Community First Hospital in fair condition.
Another victim, a 25-year-old man, was shot in the buttocks and left leg. He was taken to the same hospital but is expected to be transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition, police said. A 20-year-old man who suffered a graze wound to his left arm and a 24-year-old man who was shot in the neck were also taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
About 15 minutes before the Albany Park shooting, a 58-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
Around 2:10 a.m., the man was in his vehicle in the 7100 block of South Vincennes Avenue when two people fired shots as he was leaving a gas station. The man was transported with a gunshot wound to the back to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
