Robinson was originally selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played in 10 games in his rookie season with the Jaguars before breaking out in his second year, catching 80 passes for 1,400 yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns.

Robinson had another dominant season in 2016, with 73 receptions for 883 yards and six touchdowns. Then, a torn ACL ended his 2017 season in Week 1.

Robinson joined the Chicago Bears before the 2018 season and spent four years there. He had back-to-back dominant seasons in 2019 and 2020 and continued to establish himself as one of the league’s top receivers. In 2019, he had 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2020, he had 102 receptions for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Robinson’s career has since taken a downturn. In 2021, his final season with the Bears, he had 38 receptions for 410 yards and one touchdown. In 2022, with the Los Angeles Rams, Robinson had 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns. Last year, with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Robinson had 34 receptions for 280 yards and no touchdowns despite starting all 17 games.

Robinson signed with the Giants in May and was hoping to earn a roster spot. However, the Giants opted to part ways with Robinson in favor of their younger options.

New York’s top receiver list is first-round pick Malik Nabers, alongside him are third-rounder Jalin Hyatt and 2022 second-rounder Wan’Dale Robinson.

The Giants are hoping those three youngsters have breakout seasons, but they also have veterans Darius Slayton and Isaiah Mckenzie.

The Giants’ receiver space should be much improved this season, especially if Nabers steps up to the plate right away. Nabers is coming off a junior season at Louisiana State University in which he caught 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Giants spent the sixth overall pick on him and will likely give him the ball in his first NFL season.
