A club regular has criticised GMP officers for their handling of an incident at a party. Videos of a skirmish near the Gay Village have been sent to the MEN, showing officers attempting to arrest a man.
In one of the short clips, two police officers can be seen restraining a man and attempting to handcuff him. As the man is being arrested, one officer appears to strike the back of his head with his knee.
GMP says it has received no complaints about the incident and the MEN understands no investigation is underway.

The videos were filmed by Marcel Adams, 26, in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 21). Marcel, who was visiting Manchester from London, said he chose to film the incident for the man’s “safety”.
Speaking to the MEN, he said: “We’re not from Manchester, we’re from London, so we came to see our friends and family. Towards the end of the night we were leaving the club.
“The person you see on the ground was with his wife, then they were separated by the police and he was dragged on the ground. That’s when I started recording.
“I was really shocked to see that and hear the connection between the guy who hit him with his kneecap. It was unacceptable.
“I took this video because people need to be aware of who we are protecting. I told the police, ‘You’re on Tik Tok Live.'”
Marcel, who says he is waiting to file a complaint with GMP, added: “The guy did absolutely nothing wrong, he was just drunk. I asked the police why they were doing this and they didn’t tell me anything.”
“They didn’t even tell the guy’s girlfriend. I didn’t know who the guy on the floor was, I was recording for this guy’s safety. I drove five hours to spend time with my family and get a good night’s sleep, only to have it ruined.”
Earlier this week, a GMP spokesperson told the MEN: “Our Professional Standards Directorate has not received any complaints in relation to this incident.”
