‘Handsome boy’ dies in accident

A “handsome lad” who died in a crash outside Cardiff has been identified. Connor Ockerby, aged 20, died following a collision involving a grey Ford Fiesta which happened at around 3.50am on Sunday (July 14) on Barry Road, Dinas Powys.

In a statement, the family said: “Our lovely boy Connor tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday morning. He was adored by us all – his mum, dad and brother Dean, his girlfriend Courtney, his aunt Karen and uncle Neil, his uncles Richard, David and Michelle and his family.

“He was loved by all our extended family, his many friends, all of whom played a significant part in his life, and everyone who knew him. We are absolutely devastated by the loss of our beautiful boy. It is something we will never get over, and his death will leave a huge void in our lives and those of his many friends. We ask for privacy at this time as we try to come to terms with our loss, and ask people not to speculate about the accident while the investigation is ongoing.”

South Wales Police are continuing to investigate the fatal crash on Sunday morning, and officers are asking anyone with dashcam footage or any information to contact them online or by calling 101, quoting reference 2400233554.
