Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are expected to hold a joint rally next week at the Republican National Convention site, according to a new report.
According to the New York Times, the rally is scheduled to take place Tuesday at the Fiserv Forum, in conjunction with the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The arena is the same venue where former President Donald Trump accepted his nomination at the Democratic National Convention in July.
The Times also reported that former President Barack Obama will address the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, and that the plan is to hold the rally before the night’s events at the United Center in Chicago.
Obama is one of several leaders expected to address the DNC during its four-night stint in Chicago. President Joe Biden, who withdrew from the campaign to endorse Harris, is expected to address the crowd in Chicago on Monday. Walz is expected to speak Wednesday night, and Harris is expected to wrap up the convention on Thursday.
According to NBC News, former President Bill Clinton will also address the convention, as will former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The Democratic National Committee is set to begin Monday in Chicago, with a host of speakers and a ceremonial vote in honor of Harris and Walz, the party’s presidential nominees. The roll-call vote to nominate Harris was held earlier this month to comply with an Ohio law requiring nominees to be nominated by Aug. 7.
