A heavy police presence is still in Morecambe this morning after a man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a ‘shooting’ in Morecambe.
Police were called to reports of a suspected gunfire in an alley behind Skipton Street around 5:56 p.m. Monday (November 15).
Emergency services rushed in and found a man in his 20s with facial injuries.

He was rushed to hospital and his condition is described as serious but stable.
Police investigations are underway, but no one has been arrested so far.
This morning, police roadblocks are in place around Skipton Street, and patrols in the area need to be increased to calm the public in the coming days.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “You may have seen a police presence in Morecambe last night, so we wanted to explain what had happened.
“We were called in at 5:56 p.m. yesterday (Monday, November 15) for reports of a suspected firing of firearms in an alley at the back of Skipton Street.
“Rescue services arrived at the scene and found a local man in his 20s with facial injuries. He was taken to hospital, where his condition is now described as serious but stable.
“No arrests have been made so far, but the investigation is well underway and there will be increased security patrols in the area in the coming days.”
