Hit-and-run driver leaves Manhattan pedestrian in critical condition

A driver ran a red light in Manhattan early Monday and struck and seriously injured a 30-year-old man who was crossing the street, police said.

The victim was taken by medics to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

The suspect, driving a dark-colored sedan, is being sought.

The collision occurred at 2:45 a.m. as the victim was crossing 8th Avenue at W. 49th St.

Police said the suspect was heading north on the avenue when the victim was struck.
