How did Drew die in “Tell Me Lies”?

In the season 2 finale of Tell me liesone of the biggest questions of season 1 has finally been answered: what happened to Wrigley’s brother Drew?

For those who need a refresher, in a season 1 scene during Evan and Bree’s engagement party in 2015, Wrigley showed up high and wreaked havoc on the party. When Lucy joked about his behavior, Evan told her to “go easy on him” because “it was just his brother’s birthday.” The vague comment left fans wondering if the brothers were just broken up or if Drew was dead.

Now we finally have the answer…

Tell me lies Season 2 finale spoilers ahead.

While Drew and Wrigley are Foreign to the majority of the college scenes in 2008’s Season 2, the final episode reveals that Drew died tragically and unexpectedly that same year. As if losing his brother wasn’t hard enough to deal with, Wrigley also learns that he played a role in Drew’s death and was also the one who found him dead.

So how did Drew die? Tell me lies Season 2? What happened to Drew and Wrigley? How Benjamin Wadsworth’s character came back Tell me lies Season 2? And what else was revealed in the breathtaking season 2 finale? We have answers.

How did Drew die Tell me lies?

After Drew’s difficult season 1 and the emotional aftermath of the letter Lucy wrote about him, Drew left Baird College after his fight with Wrigley. Throughout Season 2, we saw Wrigley struggle severely with his brother’s absence, and although he contacted him several times and left him voicemails, Drew never responded to his calls. calls. Their broken relationship ate away at Wrigley as the season progressed until he broke down crying to Pippa and admitted that he had been depressed since Drew cut him out of his life.

Diana dealt a serious blow to Pippa by contacting Drew and convincing him to visit Wrigley in his time of need. He reluctantly returned to campus and made amends with his brother, and for a moment everything seemed fine. After Wrigley became vulnerable, apologized, and told Drew he loved him, the two spent the day together at the bar, drinking, reconnecting, and catching up. Then things changed.

Rather than going to a Christmas party with his friends, Wrigley continued to hang out with Drew and, to recover from their upcoming big night, he offered her one of his painkillers. After Drew took half, the good times continued. He encouraged Wrigley to call Pippa and leave a lovely apologetic voicemail, and we spotted them enjoying their sisterly bonding time as the finale progressed.

Cut to the next morning, when Wrigley woke up with an incredible hangover and discovered that Drew seemed to be asphyxiated by his own vomit. When the group of friends came together to support Wrigley, he revealed that the painkillers he gave Drew could also be to blame. “He was splitting in two, but they were time-release and he can’t do that with a time-release pill. It can kill you,” Wrigley explained. (Yes, this is a real and serious thing! And something I didn’t know about until this very episode of Tell me lies. So thank you, Meaghan Oppenheimer!)

We still don’t know how Wrigley reacts to this unfathomable loss beyond these emotional scenes. What we do know is that he’s alive and still in touch with his friends in 2015, so we hope to see more of his journey (and his joy, after such difficult times) in a potential season 3.
