Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) at its “Glowtime” event on Monday introduced the iPhone 16 series, which is “designed for Apple Intelligence from the ground up,” according to CEO Tim Cook.

The iPhone 16 series will be the first widely released phone from Cupertino to feature Apple Intelligence in beta, following an update scheduled for October.

This AI software was initially showcased at WWDC and was previously limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models.

With the recent buzz surrounding Apple following the launch of the new iPhone, some investors may be interested in the company’s potential dividend gains. Currently, Apple has a dividend yield of 0.45%, which translates to a quarterly dividend amount of 25 cents per share ($1.00 per year).

To figure out how to make $500 per month with Apple, we start with an annual goal of $6,000 ($500 x 12 months).

Then we take that amount and divide it by Apple’s $1.00 dividend: $6,000 / $1.00 = 6,000 shares

So, an investor would need to own approximately $1,325,460 worth of Apple stock, or 6,000 shares, to generate monthly dividend income of $500.

Assuming a more conservative goal of $100 per month ($1,200 per year), we do the same calculation: $1,200 / $1.00 = 1,200 shares, or $265,092 to generate $100 in monthly dividend income.

Note that dividend yield can change continuously, as both dividend payments and stock price fluctuate over time.

Dividend yield is calculated by dividing the annual dividend payment by the current stock price. Dividend yield changes as the stock price changes.

For example, if a stock pays an annual dividend of $2 and its current price is $50, its dividend yield will be 4%. However, if the stock price increases to $60, the dividend yield will decrease to 3.33% ($2/$60).

Conversely, if the stock price falls to $40, the dividend yield would increase to 5% ($2/$40).

Additionally, the amount of dividends can also change over time, which can also impact the dividend yield. If a company increases its dividend payout, the dividend yield will increase even if the stock price remains the same. Similarly, if a company decreases its dividend payout, the dividend yield will decrease.
