No. 4 Gonzaga hits the road Monday night for a huge early-season test against San Diego State, a Mountain West Conference program.

Gonzaga will look to continue its perfect season as the team enters Monday night with an impressive 3-0 record that includes wins over major powers Baylor and Arizona State, the former of which came in dominant fashion on national television to make know to everyone. The Bulldogs remain contenders this season. Gonzaga beat Baylor 101-63 thanks to a team-wide effort, which saw five Bulldogs players post double-digit totals, led by Nolan Hickman’s 17 points.

Alongside Hickman, Graham Ike was pretty solid, putting up 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists, as was Braden Huff, who had 14 points and three assists on the night.
San Diego State, meanwhile, is 2-0 so far this season, beating UC San Diego 63-58 to open the season thanks to Miles Byrd’s 20 points and eight rebounds. The Aztecs followed up by beating Occidental 100-49 behind BJ Davis’ 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Despite its weak schedule thus far, San Diego State should present a stiff challenge for Gonzaga, as not only will the Aztecs be playing at home, but they will also rank near the Top 50 in KenPom’s analytical rankings system . Gonzaga, for what it’s worth, ranks No. 3 in this system with the No. 1 offense but No. 33 defense in the country. The Aztecs, on the other hand, have the nation’s No. 113 offense so far but the No. 17 defense, so the Bulldogs might struggle to score in parts of the game.
