WHO WILL PERFORM AT THE CLOSING CEREMONY
We know that Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, H.E.R., and of course Snoop Dogg will perform at the closing ceremony. There are also rumors that Tom Cruise will perform to help move the event from Paris to Los Angeles. Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympics.
TOM CRUISE ABELLING RUMOR
The latest rumor is that Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise will perform a stunt to connect Paris and Los Angeles, which will host the next Summer Games in 2028.
According to TMZ, Cruise is expected to rappel down the Stade de France with the Olympic flag. A video will then be released showing Cruise jumping out of a plane bound for Los Angeles, and skydiving onto the Hollywood sign.
TMZ claims that Cruise approached the Olympics with this in mind, not the other way around, and that as the two sides work out the logistics, it could be a stunt double rappelling down the Stade de France.
BILLIE EILISH
Billie Eilish is a 22-year-old phenomenon from Los Angeles who has exploded onto the music scene in recent years and headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago in 2023.
HOT RED PEPPERS
The longtime rockers often sing about their SoCal heritage with hits like Californication, Magic Johnson and Hollywood, which is a “cover” of the Meters’ “Africa” with lyrics about Los Angeles instead.
Snoop Dog
These Olympics would be incomplete without a performance from Snoop, as he has been very visible throughout the Games.
HER
HER will sing the American national anthem as part of the Paris to Los Angeles move. She is an R&B artist from Vallejo, California.
The closing ceremony will be hosted by Olympic tennis champion Venus Williams, who will join the list of guests from California. Other guests include Olympic champions Carl Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Brenda Villa and Rudy Garcia-Tolson.
