Hunter Biden responded to his pardon in a new court filing.

He informed a federal court that his father, President Joe Biden, pardoned him for federal tax evasion and gun crimes.

“Joseph R. Biden Jr. has granted me a full and unconditional pardon for, among other things, the offenses specified in the indictment in this case,” he wrote.

“On December 1, I received and formally accepted a pardon from the President. I declare (or certify, verify or declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America, that the foregoing is true and exact.”

The document, signed by Hunter Biden, was signed in Washington, DC on December 1.

President Biden announced Sunday that he had pardoned Hunter, who was awaiting sentencing following convictions for tax evasion and possessing a weapon while under the influence of drugs.

“Today I signed a pardon for my son Hunter,” the president’s statement read. It is a “total and unconditional forgiveness”, he specifies.
