Injury tracking through the 2024 season

Here’s the latest on 49ers injuries throughout the 2024 season:

August 9

Defensive end Austin Bryant was placed on injured reserve after appearing to injure his right ankle in practice.

August 8

The 49ers placed defensive end Drake Jackson on injured reserve and he is expected to miss the season with a knee injury.

August 7th

All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner missed practice with a foot issue, but he said it was “nothing serious at all.”

August 6

Star running back Christian McCaffrey will miss several weeks of practice with a calf strain. He won’t play in any preseason games, coach Kyle Shanahan said. Teammate Elijah Mitchell is also out with a hamstring strain.

Rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall left practice with a shoulder injury he’s been dealing with since the offseason. Kicker Mitch Wishnowsky also continues to be out with knee irritation.

August 2

Veteran tight end Logan Thomas is missing practice with a hamstring injury.

July 27

Spencer Burford has a fractured right hand, according to coach Kyle Shanahan, and could require surgery. His injury and a knee issue for Jon Feliciano could open the door for rookie Dominick Puni to start.

July 25

New running back Isaac Guerendo tears his hamstring on the first day of practice.

July 24

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), defensive end Talanoa Hufanga (ACL) and defensive lineman Drake Jackson (knee) open training camp on the physically unfit to perform list.

July 16

The 49ers placed receiver Ricky Pearsall, their first-round pick, on non-football injured reserve as rookies report to camp. He has reportedly been dealing with a shoulder injury.
