Here’s further evidence that America’s enemies are laughing at President Biden, and they will do the same to his understudy, Vice President Kamala Harris, if she wins the top job: Iran has now sent hundreds of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
These exports, along with thousands of Iranian drones and North Korean missiles, will help Moscow raze civilian areas across Ukraine — while Washington refuses to let kyiv use Western-supplied weapons against the airfields that are launching these attacks, or nearly so. other military targets inside Russia.
And Iran has done so in defiance of repeated threats from the United States (and Europe) for months.
It’s understandable: Biden and Harris keep saying “Don’t do that!” and do nothing when the other side do.
This is true whether it is Joe telling Vladimir Putin “don’t do it” before his invasion of Ukraine, or Kamala telling Central Americans “don’t do it” when it comes to illegally crossing the U.S. border.
Damn, Harris is afraid to face the American media in a real press conference; why would Putin or anyone else think she would have the courage to face real enemies?
And she will inherit the same advisers who enabled Biden’s dismal weakness; if she chooses new ones, her record as a California liberal suggests they will be even more accommodating.
As things stand, the Biden-Harris team is reluctant to slap Iran (or push the Europeans to do so) because it imagines that Tehran could worsen the Middle East crisis if we are mean to it.
Moreover, the new Iranian president (impotence!) is considered a moderate, and the democratic brains fear to “undermine” Masoud Pezeshkian before he can do something to pull the teeth out of the regime.
As if any of the many “moderates” installed in this puppet position over the past six decades had made any difference.
And as if Tehran was not really afraid of escalation in the Middle East: its entire strategy is to bleed Israel dry with attacks carried out by its various proxies across the region, while avoiding giving Jerusalem a clear pretext to launch direct attacks on Iran.
The wacky analysts at the New York Times, meanwhile, speculate: “President Biden’s lame duck status could hamper a response,” which we assume means Joe is still too busy sulking about being forced to abandon his reelection bid to do his job.
It’s not that he hasn’t been poor on national security since his first day in the Oval Office, when he began opening the borders, planning his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and ending Trump-era sanctions on Iran.
Oh, and appease Putin too — who invaded another nation under each The American President of This Century except Asset.
It was President Barack Obama who accelerated the US appeasement policy towards the Tehran regime, even before his noxious “nuclear deal”; Trump canceled that deal and brought the Iranian economy to its knees – until Biden took power and started being nice again.
Harris, with her complete lack of overseas experience beyond showing up for photo ops, is unlikely to abandon the Obama-Biden strategy — and Tim Walz, her thoroughly progressive choice for vice president, will leave the National Guard rather than be deployed to a war zone.
So if you want to continue to see America humiliated, its friends betrayed and its enemies gaining ground, vote Harris-Walz.
