Isabella Strahan is celebrating a milestone in her health journey as she battles brain cancer for the past six months.
Just over a month after completing her final round of chemotherapy for medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, the daughter of Good morning America Host Michael Strahan shared some encouraging news. In a video posted to his YouTube channel on Thursday, July 18, Isabella announced that a recent MRI showed she was cancer-free. “It was a really good MRI,” she said. “Everything was clear. No more cancer. And everything is fine.”
To mark the occasion, the 19-year-old also posted a sweet photo to her Instagram Story showing herself smiling in a grassy field with a link to the YouTube video, which she captioned “Cancer Free” with a white heart emoji.
Isabella also explained in her YouTube video that she had finished her hospital visits and would not have any more doctor appointments until October. While she was thrilled about the news, she admitted to feeling a little emotional about it. “I already miss my doctors and everyone who helped me,” she said. “Because they are all so nice. I am sad now knowing that I won’t be going back for a while because I love them so much.”
Throughout her health battles, Isabella has received an overwhelming amount of support from her fans and family. Her father, Michael, 52, recently praised her strength and resilience after completing chemotherapy. “You are a SUPERWOMAN,” the former NFL star wrote in a June 16 Instagram post. “Ringing the bell to say you are done with chemo and on your way. You continue to fight with a smile, strength and determination. I am one proud dad! I love you, Bella,” he continued.
Fans of GMA Viewers began to notice Michael’s absence, as his regular appearances on the morning show ended in May. During his absence, a rotation of substitutes joined his co-host, George Stephanopoulos. Michael’s absence from the show was due to Isabella finishing chemotherapy, as the doting father stepped away from the spotlight to be with his family during this difficult time.
