The Israeli military expanded a major military operation in the northern part of the occupied West Bank overnight, attacking from the air and from the ground using tanks and bulldozers, ABC News has learned.
The targets of the raid are Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas. The Israeli military described the ongoing operation as a “large counter-terrorism operation” aimed at “thwarting the Islamic-Iranian terrorist infrastructure.”
According to reports, nine Palestinians have been killed so far, but the number could rise further. The Israeli army reportedly ordered Palestinians to evacuate the three targeted sites, and troops also entered a hospital in the area.
It would be the first Israeli military operation targeting multiple cities at once since the second intifada, which lasted from 2000 to 2005.
