An Italian village is offering a special deal to Americans seeking respite from President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory by offering accommodation for just 1 euro.

Located in the countryside of Sardinia, Italy, the ancient town of Ollolai recently launched a “Live in Ollolai” initiative offering a special offer in an effort to attract Americans seeking refuge following Trump’s victory against the vice-president. President Kamala Harris.

The rural community released a statement on its website saying: “Are you exhausted by world politics? Are you looking to adopt a more balanced lifestyle while guaranteeing new opportunities? It’s time to start building your European getaway to the beautiful paradise of Sardinia.

“Ollolai is the perfect destination to reconnect, recharge and embrace a new way of life,” the website says.

When looking for their new home, Americans can either choose a space to renovate or spend a little more to receive a move-in ready one.

The website says move-in ready homes cost up to 100,000 euros, while some homes needing updates are sold for as little as 1 euro.

Mayor Francesco Columbo told CNN the city entered into the deal to “meet America’s post-election relocation needs.”
