Jamii launches Experiences on Airbnb in London pop-up to showcase black creators and creators

Jamii, the UK start-up and discovery platform for black creators and creators, is teaming up with Airbnb this Christmas to launch a range of festive experiences – booked only on Airbnb – in an eventful pop-up store in the heart of Shoreditch, London – from 27 November to 19 December.

Jamii hosts Airbnb to help promote black-owned businesses in London with a particular focus on diversity, economic improvement, empowerment, curation and community. The perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit, guests will be able to book experiences with independent Black-owned brands across fashion, beauty, home and food.

The festive experiences will be held in Jamii’s newly launched pop-up ‘Jamii Christmas Experience Store’, at a price of £ 10 per guest, and will cover a range of topics and interests, including:

Future-self Afro-portrait Workshop – December 1st
Imagine your future self and your achievements, now imagine yourself as a work of art. Join the collage artist Birungi who loves to create well-being where black people can explore their identity through African print collages and portraits. Guests will depart with a stunning work of art that reminds them of their innate creativity.


Planning the year with Kitsch Noir – December 7th
The founder and illustrator of Kitsch Noir, Cherelle, will host an hour-long session to help you create a beautiful and powerful vision board. Guests will discuss the importance of visualization, affirmations and goal setting, as well as learn a step-by-step process for how to keep a monthly reflective diary. Cherelle will also review the tools she uses regularly to help her stay on track with her dreams and desires.


Tea & Me’s Tea Ceremony – December 8th
A completely immersive experience in tasting a range of eight tea blends across Tea & Me’s Signature and Origin collections. Enjoy a moment to relax and enjoy some ‘me’ time. The session will teach guests about the different types of tea, how to brew, the intentions behind them and the benefits they offer. Guests get an all-sensory experience with the infusions and also get the gift of expanding the experience at home with a Tea & Me goodie bag to take with and share with others.


Yeye Mi’s Come Tie With Me Head Wrapping Course – December 10th and 11th
A step-by-step workshop that guides you through wrapping a variety of beautiful headwrap styles with ease! The practical masterclass is perfect for beginners or those who need an upgrade in the art of wrapping the head. Regardless of your hair length or texture, you will be able to tie like a professional!


Beginner Cornrow and Braiding Workshop – December 12th
This introductory session is hosted by the invigorating afro hair care brand, IVY WILD, and is about creating a fun environment where you can learn to cornrow and braid. All levels are welcome and guests will be able to test their new skills on three different hair types.


And that’s not all. There are even more experiences in the cast, each led by one of Jamii’s creators, e.g. a Cocktail Making Class with Padnas – so keep an eye on this space.

To honor the season with gifts and good news, the pop-up will also be fundraising for the British charity, Sistah Space, with guests who can easily donate by rounding their purchases to the nearest pound.
