JD Vance said he “strongly suspected” he and his team would debate Tim Walz, but he wanted to make sure certain conditions were met first.

Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, has agreed to debate his Republican counterpart on October 1 on CBS News.

Vance, who has not yet confirmed his attendance, said they need to “discuss the rules a little bit,” which would involve having an audience on site and “setting the parameters in the right way, where we can have a good exchange of ideas.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
