Kacey Musgraves was not happy about an incident with a fan while performing in Tampa, Florida on Friday.
The “Deeper Well” singer, 36, was walking through the crowd at Amalie Arena when someone suddenly grabbed and pulled her.
Musgraves stopped in her tracks and said, “What the hell?” to the fan, before continuing towards the stage.
“Jesus, fucking Christ-king,” she also said into the microphone.
The incident went viral on TikTok and Musgrave’s supporters expressed their outrage in the comments.
“I hate how quickly they stole his smile 🙁 who does that?” one fan wrote.
“Even if they are not famous, why do we touch others and pull them especially,” another person said.
A third comment read: “Normalize these artists/celebrities standing up for themselves and watch it stop…because when they actually react, the ones who are wrong in the public eye are the famous…”
“Some fans do this a lot, and it ruins everything for the rest of us,” another fan wrote.
Musgraves later spoke about the incident in Hollywood, Florida. show the next evening.
“Last night, that bitch from Tampa,” she said on stage as the audience laughed and then booed.
“I know. She kind of ruined it,” Musgraves added. “She kind of ruined it for everyone.”
“I thought I was going to have to take on real East Texas. Take off my earrings,” she continued. “Um, well, Florida is going hard. It was kind of like when you typed your name and date of birth into the man thing Florida, but the girl from Tampa showed up.
Musgraves then returned to the concert and told her fans in the crowd that she was “very excited” to be there.
In a second TikTok, fans continued to show their support for the Grammy Award winner.
“As someone from Tampa, WE DON’T CLAIM IT, I’M SORRY,” one person said.
“I don’t even blame him, rn. It’s disgusting what happened,” another fan added.
“People are even more upset that she called the fan a mean name, it’s crazy if she didn’t get a hold of her this wouldn’t have happened,” someone pointed out other.
Another fan wrote, “As someone who attended the Tampa concert, if she chooses to never come back to Tampa, I wouldn’t blame her.” It was absolutely disgusting and she handled it with such class.
Musgraves is currently on his Deeper Well World Tour. It started on April 28 and will end in Nashville on December 7.
The tour supports Musgraves’ sixth album, released in March. “Deeper Well” was recently nominated for two Grammys, including Best Country Album.
