Candidate for the post of FBI director, Kash Patel, was the victim of what appears to be a cyberattack emanating from Iran on Tuesday, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

President-elect Donald Trump nominated his longtime ally Patel on Saturday after announcing plans to fire FBI Director Christopher Wray.

Patel has been a staunch Trump supporter for years and served in several positions in his first administration.
