Candidate for the post of FBI director, Kash Patel, was the victim of what appears to be a cyberattack emanating from Iran on Tuesday, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
President-elect Donald Trump nominated his longtime ally Patel on Saturday after announcing plans to fire FBI Director Christopher Wray.
Patel has been a staunch Trump supporter for years and served in several positions in his first administration.
“Kash Patel played a key role in the first Trump administration’s efforts against the Iranian terrorist regime and will implement President Trump’s policies to protect America from adversaries as FBI director,” the spokesperson said. -Trump transition spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer.
