Kate Winslet admits her retirement fantasy is ‘crude and sexual’

Kate Winslet is to keep her retirement plans under wraps, admitting they might be too “inappropriate” to share with the public.

During Wednesday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the actress revealed that she hasn’t worked in a year, having postponed the release of her upcoming film, “Lee,” due to strikes in Hollywood.

The conversation led to Winslet’s retirement fantasy, but she couldn’t find the enthusiasm to reveal her secret.

“I said I’d go fishing,” Colbert admitted.

“I don’t think I can say what I would do, because it’s so inappropriate. No, I can’t,” Winslet rationalized, as the talk show host tried to coerce an answer out of her.

“No, actually, I can’t…because it’s gross and sexual, so I can’t say it,” she said, much to the audience’s delight and Colbert’s amusement.

“Listen, I never get old! That’s all I have to say for now. I never get old. No retirement for me, ever.

Although Winslet didn’t want to divulge her personal secret regarding her retirement, she recently shared some behind-the-scenes information about the famous door scene from “Titanic,” which she filmed alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in a tank.

“Well, it was a pretty awkward tank… because, to burst the bubble, he was waist-high at that point,” Winslet said, according to People, of the 1997 classic. “So , first of all, I would regularly say to myself, “Can I just go pee?” “And then I get up, I get off the gate, I walk to the edge of the tank, about 20 feet away, and I literally have to throw my leg over and climb up and back and back to the gate. It’s terrible,” she shared.

“Anyway, yeah. So it was waist high. Leo, I’m afraid to say, was on his knees,” she admitted. “I shouldn’t say it anyway.” [The film’s director] Jimmy [James] Cameron will call me. In fact, what was amazing about the rims of the tank was that it was an overflow tank. So there was water constantly flowing and you could hear the constant sound of the water.

A few months earlier, Winslet burst even more bubbles, telling Vanity Fair that kissing DiCaprio “wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.”

“It was a nightmare shooting that, because Leo couldn’t stop laughing, and we had to reshoot it like four times,” because of the lighting, she revealed of the whole sequence. “He’s a real novelist, isn’t he?” No wonder all the young girls wanted to be kissed by Leonardo DiCaprio. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. So we continued to do this kiss and I have a lot of pale makeup on. And I would have to like do our makeup checks, on both of us, between takes. And I ended up looking like I was sucking on a caramel chocolate bar after every take, because her makeup was falling on me.

Winslet said her makeup also transferred to DiCaprio’s face.

Despite the tireless filming, the actress admitted she continues to feel “very proud” of the film.
