King Charles III has greeted crowds for a second time after being formally proclaimed monarch.

After leaving Buckingham Palace in a black Rolls-Royce, the vehicle stopped along the Mall and the monarch and Queen Consort were seen speaking to people outside Clarence House.

It comes after he made his declaration and oath at the Accession Council in St James’s Palace.

The King previously spoke to people outside Buckingham Palace on Friday following his arrival in London for the first time as monarch.

He had thanked people for their good wishes as large crowds gathered to greet him and his wife Camilla.

The King had just returned to London following the death of his mother on Thursday.

King Charles III held an impromptu walkabout

Other senior royals also greeted members of the public on Saturday, most notably in Windsor, where the Prince and Princess of Wales reunited with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The four observed tributes to the Queen outside the castle walls before meeting people along the Long Walk.

The visit marked William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan’s first public appearance since the Queen’s death.

Elsewhere, the Queen’s granddaughters Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall shed tears as they and other senior members of the Royal Family inspected flowers left by mourners at Balmoral.

The granddaughters were joined looking at bouquets by Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice, Prince Edward, Sophie Countess of Wessex, their daughter Lady Louise Windsor, and Princess Anne on their way back from a private prayer service at nearby Crathie Kirk.
