Kit Harington, best known for his role as Jon Snow in the HBO television series “Game Of Thrones,” joins the cast of the high-stakes financial drama series “Industry.” In the new season, Harington plays Sir Henry Muck, the founder and CEO of a green tech company that goes public.
Harington, who watched “Industry” on repeat for corona virus pandemicsaid he was drawn to the show’s writing and the energy of its young cast.
“I was totally hooked from the moment I started,” he said.
Despite his extensive acting experience, Harington admitted to being nervous about joining the cast because he considered himself a “fanboy” of the show, similar to how some “Game of Thrones” guest stars felt.
Harington described his character, Sir Henry Muck, as a “posh idiot”, calling him intelligent and charming, but lacking self-awareness due to his privileged background.
“He’s always had this safety net under him so he doesn’t need it – he can kind of be whoever he wants to be, and that’s not always the best thing,” Harington said.
He said he drew inspiration from real people he won’t name to create Sir Henry Muck. He described his character as a “techie” but with “a British background”.
“I thought it was a pretty appealing combination to try myself in,” Harington said.
As for the famous Jon Snow, Harington holds the character in a special place in his heart.
“It took me a few years to understand what this whole journey was and to detach myself from him as a character. But now, after working over the last few years to process it all in a way, I have nothing but affection and love for him,” Harington said.
