Knightsbridge studio flat measuring 6ft by 12ft hits the market for £ 275,000

A tiny studio flat in London with a living area which is nearly as small as a prison cell has gone on sale for a staggering £ 275,000.

The minuscule apartment, which is so small the cooker is at the end of the bed, measures just 6ft by 12ft in its kitchen-bedroom area, with a connected 3ft sq toilet-shower.

An average UK prison cell used to hold one person is 6ft by 10ft, according to a report by HM Inspectorate of Prisons, meaning the flat’s living area is only a shade bigger when not including the bathroom.

What makes it even more astonishing is that at £ 275,000, the flat costs as much as four bedroom homes in the UK’s current cheapest area for property – in Middlesbrough.

But for those pushing the importance of location, location, location, the tiny property does have indeed a few perks.

For one, it is situated in the ultra-wealthy district of Knightsbridge – and opposite the world famous Harrods department store.

The area, home to a host of super rich residents, has an average property price of £ 16,749,000. Luxury apartments regularly sell for more than £ 20,000,000, and currently one off-market listing is up for more than £ 65,000,000.

The buyer of the miniscule flat will also access their new property through a stunning marble-lined apartment block right opposite Harrods, where they can rub shoulders with their millionaire neighbors.

But they will certainly not be living the luxury life of those they share the apartment block with. The property has a total floor plan area of just 110sqft – and it comes with just one small window and a fold-down table.

Images show the narrow main area – consisting of lounge, bedroom and dining area – with very minimal floor space.

A small enclosed cooking area featuring a cooker top and Bosch microwave oven is located right at the end of the single bed.

Directly above the bed is a square mirror which is almost double the size of the slim window to the left.

A set of wardrobes are fitted opposite the cooker and appear to include a sink inside so that buyers do not have to take a few extra steps to the bathroom to wash dishes.

A small foldable table also sits at the side of the bed so buyers can use it to work or eat – but they may still need to be careful not to leave crumbs on the bed.

The bathroom area features a shower, sink, toilet and square windows across the top to allow extra daylight in.

The compact property is located directly across from luxury designer store, Harrods, which may explain the eye-watering price tag.
