The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be major players at the upcoming trade deadline as they attempt to build a more competitive team. Los Angeles did virtually nothing in the offseason and entered this season with pretty much the same team that was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

They have some interesting options to move at the deadline and it appears a guard is gaining traction. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, several NBA teams are interested in young guard Jalen Hood-Schifino.

Los Angeles declined the final year option on Hood-Schifino’s rookie contract, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer. Fischer mentions the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz as two teams that could be interested in acquiring the former first-round pick.

“He’ll be playing in the G League this year and he’ll have plenty of opportunities to show off, both in the G League in general and at the G League Showcase when the entire league comes to Orlando in December,” he said. said Fischer. . “Atlanta was interested in him in that discussion with Dejounte Murray last year. Utah, I believe, showed interest in him.”
