LeBron and Bronny made history Tuesday night as the first father-son duo in NBA history to play together. The younger James entered the game in the fourth minute of the second quarter and played just over two minutes in the Lakers’ season opener. He recorded one rebound while going 0-for-2 from the field.

As for the elder James, he began his 22nd season in the NBA with another strong performance, scoring 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. The Lakers earned a big 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves to start their season 1-0 for the first time since 2016.

LeBron James was understandably grateful for the historic moment after the game.

“That moment, we were at the scorer’s table together and we were recording together, something I’ll never forget,” LeBron said during a joint post-game press conference with Bronny. “No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory fades as I get older or anything, I will never forget this moment.”

James also posted a video on his Instagram with the caption: “With all my heart and soul!!! I will never forget this moment for the rest of my life.”

The Lakers continue their season Friday night against the Phoenix Suns at Crypto.com Arena. It remains to be seen if Bronny will get more playing time in the future.
