Leboeuf joins pundit in slamming ‘disrespectful’ Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be pushing for an exit from Old Trafford, and some are not impressed by his demands.
Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been slammed for his reported exit demands.
Whether Ronaldo will get a move, and whether United will facilitate one remains to be seen, but in the meantime, the Portuguese star has been criticised for making exit demands.
Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf told ESPN FC: “It is (wrong) for me. It’s not professional with all due respect and the fact I appreciate the player and what he achieved in his career but it’s not professional and disrespectful towards the club.
“You have to stay, you have to show respect to the other players, to the fans that came, you still belong to the club, you signed for it, you have to play for them, didn’t make any mistakes, they want to keep you so the only thing you have to say is at least sit on the bench and wait until the end of the game.”
TalkSPORT pundit Andy Goldstein agrees with those comments, hitting out at Ronaldo for thinking he is more important than the club.
“I don’t like any player that thinks they’re bigger than the club,” he said. “This should’ve been sorted before preseason!
“If you have a player like Ronaldo, you feel obliged to pick him,”
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has said Ronaldo is not for sale, or at least not as things stand.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale, he is in our plans – he’s not with us due to personal issues,” said the United boss.
Ronaldo has less than one year remainig on his current contract.
