Hamilton, 37, revealed he has missed the streets of London and shared a glimpse of his adventures around Big Smoke on Instagram.
He posted a video on the social media platform showing him at High Street Kensington and Notting Hill station, while also posing for photos with London Underground staff.
The F1 star subtitles the post: “Had such a great weekend with family and friends.
“Walked around London and got on the phone last night, which is something I had not done for years.

“Feeling fresh for the coming week. Sending you all love and light.”
Next Hamilton travels to Azerbaijan and it looks like he wants to get back on track on the Baku City Circuit.
The Mercedes star needed a little free time to relax and get new energy, as he has endured a tough season so far.
Hamilton has only one podium to brag about and problems with the car have plagued him throughout.

Despite his struggles, Hamilton still enjoys running races and has no plans to stop for the time being.
He said, “Why should I stop?
“Let’s take this season: I probably will not win the title, but I feel the same joy of competing as when I started.
“Maybe one day I can not handle the pressure anymore, I get tired, but that day has not come yet.”
