A shooting in a west London park has left a 15-year-old boy dead this evening (Sunday 21 July). According to reports on social media, a gunman emerged from a bush and began shooting at Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance in North Kensington, known locally as Teletubbies Park. The park was reportedly “full of families having fun” when the gunman appeared.
Pictures seen by MyLondon show a large number of emergency service vehicles on Kensal Road, near Hornimans Park, including police cars and rapid response ambulances. A police helicopter is also flying overhead.
London Ambulance Service confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police added that the person was a 15-year-old boy, who has not yet been identified, and that six men were in custody on suspicion of murder.

A 15-year-old boy was shot dead in Horniman Park this evening, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
In a statement, they said officers found a 15-year-old boy suffering from injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are currently searching for his relatives.
Six men have been arrested on suspicion of the teenager’s murder.
A crime scene remains in place at the park.

A man “came out of the bushes and started shooting”
One person reported on social media that his brother “saw the guy come out of the bushes. He pulled out a big gun and started shooting.
“He can still hear the sound of the gun ringing in his ear.”
The Metropolitan Police have yet to provide a statement on the details of the incident.

A man has been killed after being shot in Ladbroke Grove, London Ambulance Service said.
In a statement, a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.19pm this evening (21 July) to reports of a shooting in a park near Hazlewood Crescent, Ladbroke Grove.
“We have sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in rapid response vehicles and an incident response officer. We have also dispatched the London Air Ambulance.
“Unfortunately, a man died on site despite all the efforts of our teams to save his life.”

On Facebook, residents reported “hearing gunshots” following the incident.
One person wrote: “We heard the gunshots, it was scary.”
Another said: “I ran for my life. I was standing there and I heard three gunshots. I didn’t wait to see who it was, I ran for my life. It’s so sad. The park was full of families having fun.”
