Man appears at Old Bailey after man’s remains found in suitcases

A man has appeared at the Old Bailey charged with the murder of two men whose remains were found in suitcases at Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol and in a London flat.

Yostin Andres Mosquera, of Scotts Road, Shepherd’s Bush, west London, is accused of murdering Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, between July 8 and 10 in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The defendant, a Colombian national, appeared by videoconference and was placed in pre-trial detention. He listened attentively to the proceedings, which were broadcast by his Spanish interpreter.

Mr. Mosquera is scheduled to appear again in the same court for a plea hearing on October 2.
