A man has been arrested after a fatal fire at a house in east London, the Metropolitan Police have said.
Police were called to a property on Oval Road North in Dagenham at 5.40pm on Saturday to reports of a fire.
Firefighters and paramedics also attended the scene and, after forcing entry, discovered the body of a man in his sixties.
The police are still working to inform his relatives.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and the police investigation is being conducted by homicide detectives.
Police have not specified what offence the suspect is accused of, but he remains in custody.
