Man arrested after four ‘horrific’ rapes in Manchester city centre

A man has been arrested in connection with four “horrific” rapes in Manchester city centre. Police believe the suspect “targeted drunken men and women” before raping them and stealing their belongings.

The four separate incidents were reported in February this year, and an investigation was launched by Greater Manchester Police. A suspect, a man in his 40s, was arrested on Sunday morning (July 21).

He remains in custody for questioning by investigators. The four victims are being cared for by specialist officers.
