Man killed by hail of bullets to back in Bronx shooting, police say

A 24-year-old man was killed when a volley of bullets tore through his back during a shooting in the Bronx, police said Saturday.

Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Friday to a call about a man found shot outside a salon on Anthony Ave. near E. Tremont Ave. in Morris Heights, where they encountered the victim lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the back.

Paramedics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released.

Her attacker fled and no arrests have been made.

The number of shots fired was not immediately released.

Police searched the area for surveillance footage that may have captured the violence and could help identify the attacker.
