Manchester City fans react as Newcastle reportedly look at Nathan Ake

Manchester City fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Newcastle United are seeking to lure Nathan Ake to Tyneside – under Eddie Howe.

Howe, 43, has now been in Newcastle for more than a week – and there have even been two managerial appointments in the Premier League since.

Dean Smith arrived at Norwich on Monday, while Steven Gerrard left Rangers for Aston Villa last week. Howe’s first match comes on Saturday.

But in addition to his first match, Howe will also look at potential signatures that Newcastle can make in the January window – in six weeks.

90 minutes says Newcastle are looking at three stars Howe had in Bournemouth – in Ake, as well as the Cherries duo Jefferson Lerma and Lloyd Kelly.

Ake has only achieved 20 games for City in second place since his £ 40 million (90 min) since his move to City. Howe wants a reunion on Tyneside.

What do Manchester City fans think when Newcastle and Howe watch Ake?

Newcastle need opportunities at the back. Their current central defenders are Fede Fernandez, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Fabian Schar.

Only one of them is the left leg. If Howe is to play three at the back, or two, he will need a better left-footed option than Clark – which is not good enough.

The Irish national team player is not a Premier League standard and Newcastle will have to replace him. The Dutch international Ake would be perfect.

Manchester City fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Newcastle are interested in forming a reunion between Howe and Ake on Tyneside.
