Manchester City’s 2022/2023 Away Shirt
Images of Manchester City’s brand new away shirt for the 2022/2023 season have been leaked on social media.
The release of the new edition has been long-awaited by supporters, following first leaks that hinted at the return of a popular colour scheme and design.
In the 2011/2012 campaign, kit designers at Umbro opted to bring back red and black vertical stripes for the away shirt – in reference to the club’s strip of 1968.
This edition went on to become of the most popular away shirts among supporters of Manchester City in recent memory.
After calls season upon season for designers at Umbro, Nike, and now Puma to bring back the colour scheme, it appears that wait is now finally set to end in the 2022/2023 campaign.
Albeit with a modern day twist to the design, Puma are set to bring back red and black to City’s away shirt, with diagonal stripes taking on the design for next season.
A look at the rear of the shirt has also been indicated through new images.
The red and black diagonal stripes are accompanied by gold detailing on the club’s kit sponsors as well as the club’s badge.
The 2022/2023 away shirt will follow another hugely popular release in the club’s brand new home shirt for the season.
In reference to the club’s history once again, and the glory days of the late Colin Bell, Puma designers opted for maroon detailing around the collars and sleeves.
The Manchester City crest was also moved to the centre, in keeping with a modern day twist on a retro style.
