Manchester United Forward Marcus Rashford Reveals His Dislike For Klopp’s Side

He joined the United academy at the age of six and has gone on to make 303 appearances for the club since his debut in 2016.

Given his background of being an avid Red Devils supporter and longstanding player for the club, it’s understandable that he would take a disliking to North West rivals Liverpool.

In an interview for UNINTERRUPTED with Daniel Kaluuya, Rashid Johnson and LeBron James, the 24-year-old forward named Klopp’s side as a club that he hates.

He said: “Yeah Liverpool. I don’t like Liverpool. Liverpool have history so it’s a bit bitter.”

“But with (Manchester) City it’s you don’t like them, but you don’t have a massive reason not to like them.”

“You just grow up and it’s just two Manchester sides. One wears light blue, one wears red.”

“But the rivalry with Liverpool is just deep.”

Rashford’s statement will certainly appease the United faithful, but will probably not phase the Merseyside club’s fanbase.

Liverpool are coming off the back of an excellent campaign after winning a domestic double, finishing just a point below Premier League champions Manchester City and reaching the Champions League final.

They’ve also just added exciting new striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a fee that could reach £85 million with potential add-ons, to add to their already highly talented squad.

United, on the other hand, are at the start of a rebuild after finishing sixth last season.

New manager Eric Ten Hag has added Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez to his ranks, while Frenkie De Jong’s signature feels inevitable.

After enduring a difficult 2021/22 campaign where he managed just 5 goals in 32 appearances, Rashford is looking to bounce back in the upcoming season.

He is set to be a key part of the new Dutch coach’s plans.
