A witness told Express.co.uk: “There are about 15 police cars, several ambulances and the air ambulance has landed while a police helicopter is circling above.

“Paramedics and police are around at least one person injured on the ground. I’m told it was a knife attack, but I’m not sure.

“Two police officers hold up a sheet to obscure the view while paramedics attend to the person.

Emergency services are responding to a major incident with police, ambulance crews and an air ambulance at the scene.

Witnesses said paramedics were treating a possible stabbing victim in a park, although this has not yet been confirmed by police.

The incident took place shortly after 8pm this evening, Saturday 27 July, in Plashet Park, Manor Park, east London.

“I saw a forensic tent being set up, so it doesn’t look good.”
