Massachusetts man Robert Langlias gets stuck in chimney while trying to escape police

Ho-ho-no!

A Massachusetts man got stuck in a chimney while trying to escape cops Tuesday night in a failed attempt to channel Ol’ Saint Nick.

Officers from the Fall River Police Department attempted to raid the man’s home on Canal Street in the small New England town and then went on a Christmas goose chase.

As officers knocked on the front door, they saw two men fleeing the house through the roof, according to 10WJAR.

One jumps from the roof while the other, Robert Langlias, jumps into the chimney in a seemingly Santa-inspired maneuver.

“[One man] “He invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside a chimney,” police said in a statement. “[He] quickly found himself stuck in the chimney and required help from the very detectives he was previously fleeing from.

Body camera footage shared by the police department shows the moment responding officers scaled the roof and confronted Langlias who was submerged in the chimney.

“You’re an idiot,” said an officer brandishing a flashlight as the camera panned to Langlias, 33, trapped at the base of the chimney.

Police confirmed that the suspect was indeed trapped, but able to breathe as they called firefighters to come and rescue the would-be Santa.

“Get me out of here, brother!” » Langlias pleaded with the same cops from whom he had tried to hide, according to the footage.

Firefighters can be seen in the video dismantling the chimney brick by brick from inside the home as Langlias waited helplessly to be taken into custody.

“Due to his Santa antics, Langlias was transported to a local hospital as a precaution and was medically cleared,” police said.

The other wanted person jumped off the roof, onto a car, and hit it before cops could make an arrest and remains at large.
