Met Office weather update for Liverpool as rumours of ‘Spanish heat bomb’ likely to hit UK

The Met Office has issued an update as Merseyside prepares to enjoy some sunshine. The region has had a miserable summer so far, with cold and wet weather dominating the forecast.

However, cooler temperatures could finally be on their way. Our sister site, Mirror Online, reports that the UK could be set to experience 29C Spanish heat as the warm weather moves to the continent.

The forecast is not as positive for the North West, but it looks set to remain generally dry. The weather is expected to hover around 20°C for the rest of the week in Merseyside, with plenty of sunshine expected.

The weather will peak on Wednesday, with the Met Office forecasting for the North West: “Any mist clearing quickly, then a fine warmer day with sunny or clear spells. It is likely to become cloudier in the afternoon with a few showers possible in the evening. Maximum temperature 24°C.”

Thursday is expected to be cloudier with temperatures around 21°C and a chance of light rain on Saturday. The full forecast for the North West from Thursday to Saturday is: “Cloudy early Thursday with some rain possible, perhaps clearer later. Mainly fine Friday with warm sunny spells. Windier Saturday with sunny spells and scattered heavy showers.”
