Republican Senator Mitt Romney has responded to what he calls “fake news” that he will be featured as a surprise guest at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

As speculation grew over who would fill the void left by Thursday’s DNC lineup, Romney took to X, formerly Twitter, saying, “Contrary to the fake news, I am not the surprise guest at the DNC tonight.” Romney remains a Republican despite being a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump.

“I think it’ll be Beyoncé or Taylor Swift,” he added. “It’s very disappointing, I know!”

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
