MINNEAPOLIS — Parts of Minnesota are still assessing damage from storms that hit Saturday night and overnight. left some with big hailand others with strong winds that toppled trees and caused power outages for tens of thousands of people.
And we may not be done with severe storms yet. WCCO meteorologist Katie Steiner says there is another risk of storms today, and Monday will bring a marginal to slight risk of severe weather.
The silver lining, Steiner said, is that the National Weather Service has canceled the heat advisory for the Twin Cities. High temperatures could still hover around 90 degrees, but it’s not looking as hot as expected.
Steiner says we have a chance of thunderstorms Sunday, likely in the evening or overnight, with the best chances being in the southern part of the state.
Monday’s weather is expected to be similar to Saturday’s, although perhaps not as mild. It is expected to be warm, with temperatures around 27°C.
Then expect a nice period of dry and cooler weather which will be very comfortable.
