An important lesson in playing Relationships is not to rush to solve the game.
Some words may appear to belong to a specific category, but may actually fit many.
So if you rush your answers, you risk exhausting all your guesses and ruining your winning streak.
Like Wyna Liu, the editor-in-chief of Relationshipswarned, don’t “solve the rage.”
“My best advice is to wait as long as possible before guessing,” she said. News week previously.
“You can see the board and have completely identified the category, seeing five words that could fall into that category,” she said. “Don’t try to guess all four words in this category, because even if you know what the fifth member is, you won’t know which of the four it might not be” – and that would end up wasting a turn .
How to play “Connections”
Players receive a table of 16 words. These are divided into four groups of four based on common characteristics and classified into categories. They range in difficulty from yellow to green to blue to purple, with yellow considered the easiest category and purple the trickiest.
For example, a recent game combined the words “braid,” “bun,” “pony,” and “twist” into the category: “Ways to do your hair.” It was a blue category.
Once you have selected four words, you click the “submit” button. If your choices are correct, they will appear in the category color and disappear from the grid. However, if they are incorrect, they will remain gray and remain on the board.
If you’re stuck, try selecting the “Shuffle” button to move the words to another location on the grid.
