NYT Connections September 6: Answers and Clues for Game #453

NYT Connections September 6: Answers and Clues for Game #453

Connections quickly became one of the The New York Times the most popular games after Wordle.

This can either be a child’s play to solve or a real challenge. Newsweek has put together some handy tips to help you solve Friday’s puzzle.

Below are the instructions for playing the game. The answers to Friday’s puzzle are towards the end of the article, so scroll carefully if you want to solve them yourself.

How to play Connections

Players must group 16 words into four categories based on their association. For example, Wednesday’s puzzle included the words supply, host, plan And throw gathered in the category “Help organize a party”.

Each of the four categories is labeled with a color, which indicates its difficulty level. Yellow is the easiest category, followed by green, blue, and purple. However, the puzzles are rarely simple, using homophones and wordplay, among other techniques, to challenge players. Past categories have ranged from Quentin Tarantino films to geometric terms.

The familiarity of the words used and how often they appear in contemporary life are also factors in difficulty. “Overlap of elements,” where a word can be linked to multiple categories, is another way that Connections tests players.

If stuck, players can press the shuffle button, which will shuffle where the words appear on the screen.

Users have four attempts to correctly guess the four groups. If you fail to get all four connections, the answers and their corresponding difficulty color will be revealed at the end.
