The Oak Lawn Police Department released a surveillance image Friday of a vehicle wanted in connection with a brazen armed robbery at a convenience store.
The robbery was reported around 7:01 a.m. at the 7-Eleven, located at 4501 W. 95th St., near South Kilbourn Avenue. Oak Lawn police say five masked men entered the store, ordered customers to the ground, then robbed them and the store of their money.
One of the suspects attempted to steal a customer’s vehicle that was parked in front of the home, but was unsuccessful, police said. The group was seen leaving Kilbourn Street heading north in a dark gray Jeep Cherokee with temporary Illinois license plate 163AC317, which was reported stolen.
The same crew is suspected of committing numerous crimes in suburban areas of southwest and northwest Indiana, police said. One of those robberies was reported Thursday at the 7-Eleven, 11459 S. Kedzie Ave., in Merrionette Park.
Anyone with information on the vehicle’s location or additional details was asked to call the Oak Lawn Police Department’s Detective Division at 708-907-4051.
